What do you guys know about unions?
If anyone has any links or books titles for me, that would be great.
I just went to an orientation for a new job and one of the videos vilified unions. The place is non unionized, but it’s supposed to be a pretty great place to work from what I’ve heard and seen.
However, the portrayal of and broad generalizations about unions (“union pushers”) made me uncomfortable. I know a little bit about May Day (celebrate it every year with a bunch of other anarchists) and I know a little about the Haymarket affair. But I’m interested in learning more about labor movements and unions/union history within the US.
Oh those evil union pushers, hiding their pamphlets in the oranges. The video also made me laugh, to be fair, because of how completely ridiculous it was.
